Mike and his team did a fantastic job on adding some brick entries for our house. From the very start they were one of the easiest and most talented contractors we have worked with. They helped us find a hard to find matching brick, arrived ready to work each day, and made an extra effort to cover our and clean the area they were working in so as not to get brick dust everywhere. Their work was impeccable and we love the results as do our neighbors. They are a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend Tru Masonry and would hire them again in a minute.

Mike Larsen, his son, and one assistant put a nice stone panel veneer on our red-brick chimney in project spread over a few weeks. There was some delay do to stone availability but it went smoothly. Mike coordinated well with our stucco and landscaping team to make sure there independent tasks didn't interfere with each other. We get lots of compliments on the new chimney veneer. We used panels, instead of individual blocks. We used the El Dorado, mountain edge silverton product. Mike, his son, and team were very friendly, professional, and cleaned up well each day of the project.

We have a 75 foot 2 block stucco wall in our driveway that needed repair. Went through the recommended list of companies with no positive results until we contacted Tru-Block Masonry. Mike Larsen gave us reasonable estimates and was very patient while we went through a lengthy claim process for the damages by a delivery vehicle. Mike, Travis and John demo'd the wall on a Friday, came back on Monday and completed the job on Wednesday. They replaced blocks in two areas, sealed, textured and painted the whole wall and topped all with new red bricks. Wall looks great. Highly recommend Tru-Block Masonry.

Call TruBlock first -- Mike Larsen and his crew are the best.

We needed a 60-foot long (about 3 foot high) retaining wall on our backyard hillside. Mike Larsen and his crew, Travis and John, demo'd the existing wall and built an incredibly strong and beautiful 8x8x16 block wall for us. The wall will be here for decades as it is so well-built and strong.

Ours was a difficult job since it was on a hillside and everything had to be brought back by wheel barrow, yet they pulled it off.

The work area was kept very clean at all times and they were always happy to explain the project as it went along.

COST: TruBlock's price was right and fair. We searched through numerous masonry contractors in San Diego, talked to many, and got 3 bids. We had one very low bid from someone we surmised probably did not know how to handle the job, and also an astronomical bid from a very well-know San Diego masonry company that we just did not trust -- they did not promise everything TruBlock did.

NOTE: We knew the minute we met Mike Larsen that he knew exactly what he was talking about -- his experience is completely obvious -- and everything he said, promised, and all that was included on the written contract -- was delivered without question.

OVERALL: We recommend you call Mike Larsen at TruBlock first. You will be very happy with the work ethics of this company, the price, and most of all the results. Thanks again, Mike, Travis and John for a completely professional and excellent job!

We had a stucco retaining wall that needed repair. We sought three bids and researched reviews. We hired Mike and his crew. His price was very reasonable, professional crew and started on time with the desired results as agreed upon. We highly recommend Tru-Block Masonry.

Mike, his son and an assistant showed up on time, well actually a day after scheduled due to previous job taking longer than expected. BUT I was notified in advance of the delay.

Work was completed in one day, this was a small retaining wall installation. Excellent workmanship, excellent clean up of job site, I was completely satisfied.

While this was a very small project I recommend them highly due to the quality of their work and reasonable price. Good workmanship is not cheap, do not be taken in by low ball bids.

We recently hired Tru-Block Masonry to apply stone work to our home. They did an excellent job. Mike and his son Travis were polite, friendly and courteous. They worked quickly and kept the area clean. Several times during the job, Mike brought us outside to share an idea he or Travis had to improve on the original plan. There was no pressure but almost every time, we liked the idea and approved the change. They are not finished until you walk around the property with Mike and are pleased with the entire finished product. We are thrilled with how our home looks with the new stoned work.
